HaTikva:

The Hope of Messianic Judaism

Let's discuss this on my Blog!

B"H

As you read through the many studies here at JewToo.org it may seem as though there is just too much material to wade through, let alone to understand! People ask, "Do I really have to understand all this just to worship God correctly?"

The answer is an absolute no! You do not!

My studies go way beyond what is required and some enter the realm of conjecture.

Here's what matters:

Matthew 22:33 When the crowds heard how he [Rebbe Y'shua] taught, they were astounded;
34 but when the P'rushim [Pharisees] learned that he had silenced the Tz'dukim [Sadducees], they got together,
35 and one of them who was a Torah expert asked a sh'eilah [difficult question] to trap him:
36 "Rabbi, which of the mitzvot [commandments] in the Torah is the most important?"
37 He told him, "`You are to love ADONAI your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.'
38 This is the greatest and most important mitzvah.
39 And a second is similar to it, `You are to love your neighbor as yourself.'
40 All of the Torah and the Prophets are dependent on these two mitzvot."

So...

Its that simple.

Or as Micah put it in the Tanakh:

Micah 6:6 "With what can I come before ADONAI to bow down before God on high? Should I come before him with burnt offerings? with calves in their first year?
7 Would ADONAI take delight in thousands of rams with ten thousand rivers of olive oil? Could I give my firstborn to pay for my crimes, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?"
8 Human being, you have already been told what is good, what ADONAI demands of you - no more than to act justly, love grace and walk in purity with your God.

Of course, when we are in love we want to know all about our beloved.

There is only One True God:

Deuteronomy 6:4 "Sh'ma, Yisra'el! ADONAI Eloheinu, ADONAI echad [Hear, Isra'el! ADONAI our God, ADONAI is one];
5 and you are to love ADONAI your God with all your heart, all your being and all your resources.

Adonai is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Avraham, Yitz'chak and Ya'akov/Isra'el in the Hebrew)

The True God has a Personal Name. That Name is utterly kodosh (holy). To honor that Name we refer to Him as Adonai (the LORD) or HaShem (the Name/the King). He also has many many titles: More on this Here.

Cohen Gadol and Coming Moshiach

Several of the Israelite prophets foretold that one day an anointed king will arise among the Jewish People (Psalm 110). This man will bring People Israel into perfect obedience to Adonai. He will bring the Gentiles into perfect harmony with the Jews so that all the world will bask in the Light of Adonai and hence live in Shalom (Peace).

This man has come.

He is Y'shua the Nazarene and he will soon return to begin his reign as Moshiach. According to prophets during Moshiach's reign the Beit HaMikdash (Jerusalem Temple) will stand upon Mount Zion as the House of Prayer for all peoples of the Earth (Isaiah 56:7). As glorious king Y'shua the Moshiach will rule over a global Kingdom of Peace and Justice. As Messianic Jews this is out Hope. This is our conviction.

Of Moshiach Isaiah 11:10 says On that day the root of Yishai, which stands as a banner for the peoples - the Goyim will seek him out, and the place where he rests will be glorious.

The establishment of this theocratic Kingdom remains the hope of People Isra'el whether born or grafted in.

The glorious prophecy fulfilling rebirth of Israel in 1948 signifies that the Theocratic Kingdom is at hand. Present day Israel is the Tree of the Kingdom beginning to sprout and put forth leaves, as Y'shua foretold (Matthew 24:32). Until the Kingdom is established we continue to Hope:

HaTikva: The Hope

As long as the Jewish spirit is yearning deep in the heart,

With eyes turned toward the East, looking toward Zion,

Then our hope - the two-thousand-year-old hope - will not be lost:

To be a free people in our land,

The land of Zion and Jerusalem.
